My name is James Ashbaugh. I am a recent graduate from Indiana University with a degree in New Media Communications. New Media Communications is a newer degree that was really vital in bridging the gap between graphic and web design with more business related concepts in regards to the booming social media world and it’s many marketing strategies.
I am not necessarily one of those people that knew what I wanted to be from an early age. I sort of stumbled into this field in my later years of schooling. I was always interested in the arts and from a very young age can remember writing poetry, having a deep interest and appreciation for music, and always sketching in notebooks and spending my spare time finishing works in the art room.
It was my love of the arts and my great interest in computers and the marketing world that really all came together in a perfect storm to bring me to this field. In college, I really fell in love with design. I just couldn’t get enough. I took most every class i could in my time at school. From the introductory through the advanced. The principles, the history, the application… anything I could fit in my schedule. I am very passionate about design and hope to always be a student of design.
However, I have always been self motivated. I have known for a very long time that I wanted to establish my own business. It was actually my community that helped further guide me. I have an awesome community of friends. It seems like everyone has their own very special gift or talent in which they really excel. It was my friends that really revealed to me what a great need there is for affordable graphic and web design services. Anymore, having a website is more important than having a business phone! The days of making due without a website are far in the past. This is great for my field but tough on small businesses that need to keep operating costs low. That is the birth of this studio.
It has always been a goal of mine to be genuine and honest with everyone. So here is how I operate;
I deal with all of my clients personally. There is no passing the buck or run around. If there is a problem, I will own it and I will fix it.
I am easy to contact for any question or concern. You call my personal cell phone, you get me. You send an email to the studio, I read it and I reply to it.
I have a low overhead. This means more affordable work for clients. Which means more work for me.
And it really is that simple to me. I really like simple.
